Making sustainability visible, measurable, and achievable. One glass container at a time.
At Avartan Glass, we are committed to closing the loop on glass waste. By collecting, processing, and repurposing glass from restaurants and households, we reduce landfill burden, conserve resources, and build a circular economy in Nashik and beyond.
Avartan (आवर्तन) is a Sanskrit word meaning infinite or cyclical. It reflects our belief that glass is not meant to end its life in a landfill, but to move in a continuous loop of use and reuse.

Shivam Vishwasrao is a software engineer-turned-circular-economy entrepreneur, focusing on building practical and measurable sustainability systems. He holds a degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Toledo (Ohio, USA) and began his career in the United States as a Software Engineer in Research and Development at O-I Glass, one of the world’s leading glass manufacturers, where he contributed to innovation-driven engineering initiatives within a global manufacturing environment.
In 2024, he returned to India to explore how glass recycling could be made more structured and transparent. That exploration led to the creation of Avartan Glass, an initiative designed to strengthen post-consumer glass recovery through disciplined operations and community participation.
By establishing local collection networks and scaling operations beyond 2.5 metric tons per month, Shivam and his team built a structured glass recovery system from the ground up. What began as an idea has now evolved into a functioning organization with a consistent monthly output and active collection partners.
